1994 Early Fender Jazzmaster MIJ JM-66 29-Year Vintage Japan Re-issue 22928

This is a vintage 1994-'95 Fender JM-66 Jazzmaster in excellent condition. It has a T + 6-digit serial and said “Made in Japan,” though a previous owner partially scratched it off (made at a time before Japan quality became a thing!).
Beautiful time capsule of Japan craftsmanship from the mid-90s. Made at the famed Fender Fuji-gen Plant, these rivaled the USA Fenders of the day. The neck is the best ever from Fender…great feel, fast and substantial with beautiful rosewood fingerboard. All electronics work perfect, and it plays great all over the neck. It has the red tortoise guard, as opposed to the dark tortoise that came on later models.
Cosmetically, is has very little playing wear. I tried to show one tiny mark on the edge (see pics). One tiny nick tip of headstock, and a few mild scuffs the camera can’t capture. Frets have lots of life, no grooving, only very mild uniform flattening. For a near 30-year-vintage instrument, this looks to have been babied. Will be hard to find one this old in this condition. Weight is 7 pounds, 14 ounces. No case. Comes with push-in tremolo bar that may or may not be the original. ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.) Guitar Setup
Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case.
